A busy designer, our client needed a modest apartment to operate as both a living and work space. Poorly served by daylight, the existing layout was ‘pokey’ and the radiators were in awkward places.
Our solution to creating more space and light was to colonize the existing covered balcony and remove a wall. We kept the two bed capacity by introducing a wall bed, space-saving sliding walls and laid a high performance plastic floor.
Today, the once unprepossessing and dim apartment is a welcoming and stylish living/working space for under £25k (2002).
