BFA awarded grant to develop revolutionary space saver

Brooke Fieldhouse Associates have been awarded a government grant to continue research and development into their brand new space saving product.
The KO1, or Kitchen Organizer, is a modular, expandable shelving system. The system is not only capable of increasing shelf and cupboard capacity by 50%, it also stacks and expands in such a way as to eliminate the issue of ‘hidden’ objects. Thus, when you open a cupboard door or take one glance at a shelf, you can see all the items available.
The new product has been recognized by the Eco3 design consultancy – an associate of Yorkshire Forward - as having far wider scope then simply a ‘smart spice rack’. They see KO1 as having great potential assisting laboratories, hospital and surgery dispensaries; anywhere, in fact, where a high level of storage and time sensitive organization is required.
The grant consisting of 6 days consultancy support and expertise, resourced by Eco3 will enable BFA to take this project forward to production stage. Product design is a diversification for BFA which is why they have sought the assistance of a mechanical engineer to develop the project. They have also appointed the BIG Ideas Collective to advise on packaging, intellectual property rights, and marketing development. The invention is currently protected by a US Patent and is an EU Registered Design.
Eco3 will treat the project as a case study ensuring that BFA’s request that by the time the product reaches the market it is not only a well designed example of ‘form following function’, but that it achieves the highest standards of eco friendliness possible.
