Although many of our commissions do involve radical alterations to the fabric of buildings,
there are other times when, for reasons of convenience or budget, a lighter touch is required.
In this case - a remodelled mews house in South Kensington, London, -
the key was for some simplification and careful detailing...
The client played a large part in achieving the 'look', colours and accessorising, while the designers BFA sourced and co-ordinated the contractor, and advised on surface finishes and detailed cabinetwork design – and while we were bringing a more tranquil atmosphere to the bedroom of this mews house in London, we were able to add a new toilet, laundry and wine 'cellar' in the space previously used as a garage.
Bringing under-utilised space back into practical use really does give 'something for nothing'!
